He's a super sweetie and we're all in love with him!
Today we saw Dr. Reidy for his 2 month appointment. We'd never met him before but he was nice and Lucy answered all of his questions about her baby brother!
Max had to get a series of shots today but we all agreed that he was very brave. Of course he cried, but he was also starvin' Marvin and calmed down almost immediately...and then he ate so he was extra happy.
He was pretty sleepy for the rest of the evening. We g ave him another dose of Tylenol about 4 hours after his appointment when he seemed a little grouchy but that was it. He usually goes to bed between 9 and 10pm and wakes up around 4am to eat and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8am. After his appointment, he went to bed around 9:30 and didn't wake up until 7:30 this morning. Another 10 hour night from my little sweetie!
Stats:
Weight: 11.41 (37%) - Lucy was 10.47 (43%) at that age
Height: 23.50 (62%) - Lucy was 23.00 (72%) at that age
He continues to loooooove getting baths and my lovely assistant, Lucy, and I try to give him one regularly. She's always in charge of washing his hair and she's mighty good at it!
He also loves being outside and being held. We've been using the baby front-pack lately and he's a fan! Now that I am back to work, the boys have been spending a lot of time together...they like to sit on the front porch in the chair Daddy got for Father's Day!
Max loves his B! He's a good baby - usually pretty content unless he's hungry and we're not doing something about it quickly enough!
As much as he likes his B, he also seems to be a bit of a thumb-sucker! And recently, he's mastered the art of grasping his toys! He held onto this plush giraffe rattle (which was a favorite of baby Lucy's!) for about a half hour one night recently!
Our happy guy likes to be bundled at night time but throughout the day, he can fall asleep anywhere! As you can see, he continues to stake his claim in Dad's recliner!
He does not like having his diaper changed...sometimes he's okay with it, but typically he yells throughout the whole process. He likes being in his carseat but doesn't love being put in, he hates red lights (aka when the car comes to a stop) but does like car rides. He's always looking out the window!
Recently we tried the swing again. We'd tried it when he was first home and he was hit or miss but he's really taken a liking to it lately. He loves swinging and listening to music! He likes laying in his bed and watching his mobile...he usually hangs out there while I put away his laundry.
He also really enjoys playing under his gym. And he's getting quite strong. As long as he isn't too sleepy or hungry, he does well with tummy time. Just the other day, he was laying on his tummy and holding his chest and head up, looking all around. Lucy walked in and yelled, "Hey! I didn't know he could hold his head up like that!" I think she was proud of him! She is such a good big sister! She's aware that many of the baby toys we have used to be hers and she loves offering them to him. I can't help but wonder how she'll feel, though, when he's more mobile and grasps for her current toys...
We aren't sure when he'll be moving out of the bassinet in our room yet...all I know is that the weight limit is 15 pounds and we're fast approaching it...he's such a good sleeper, though, that it probably won't be an issue.
Growing so fast! |
