Happy 4th of July! (yeah, I'm a little late...)

Hooray for a nice-weather 4th!  No rain like in previous years!  Not too hot, certainly not cold...a great day!  We started with the parade in Edgewood - we met at GranJan & Grandpa's house and walked up the street to watch.  Max slept through the whole thing and Lucy ended up losing interest...

Initially, she was waving and collecting candy but then when the super noisy fire trucks came by, she got a little turned off...she said she had to go potty and that she and Daddy would just walk back to the house and wait for everyone...

For awhile we had a serious issue with her and loud noises...she'd scream and cry and freak out at the slightest sound of any loud(ish) noise - a lawnmower running four houses down would have her running, crying, inside.  Taking a walk and hearing a motorcycle go by would cause hysterical screams.  It was making me a little crazy but luckily it didn't last too long.  She still doesn't love these loud noises but she doesn't lose her mind over them anymore.  But the parade was testing her, I guess...I still think she had a great time.

Next we went to the pool!  Yay!  Lucy's been begging to go to a "big pool" for months!  She got in the big pool at Brookwood for a bit but then switched to the baby pool where she had a lot more fun.  This girl is getting so independent!

Max had fun at the pool, too...basically he took a lot of naps!  He and Luke were cute in their matching shirts and at one point Maxy swiped his sister's shades!

We had more fun back at GranJan & Grandpa's house that evening playing and eating pizza.  That night Lucy and Daddy even got to watch a few fireworks from the front porch.

I love these kids!

She thought she was so funny giving Lucy this insane blue cupcake...
But I reminded her Lucy was sitting on HER couch...

Sweet little baby guy!
