A Christmas angel, a Shopkins show and another Santa visit

On December 12, Lucy and her classmates, along with the 2nd graders, put on a Christmas show. The 1st graders have non-speaking parts but the 2nd graders have speaking parts...so we're already looking forward to next year's show!

Lucy came home and excitedly told us she was going to be an angel in the show - she said she raised her hand to be Mary but an angel was her second choice and she was very pleased about it! We already had angel wings (my cousin Amy had found a new pair at a yard sale and snagged them for us - we knew they'd come in handy!) and I found the costume on Amazon. She was the prettiest angel I ever saw!

Some of the other choices were The Grinch, a Who from Whoville, a shepherd or a sheep.
All of the kids were soooo cute!

That weekend, "Grandma with the dogs" (as Lucy & Max call her) treated Lucy & I plus Alli & P to the Shopkins Live show at the Aronoff (and even got us VIP passes!)
I didn't tell Lucy about it until right before we went to meet the other gals and she was PUMPED!

Even though Lucy has been obsessed with them for a couple of years (even having a Shopkins-themed 5th birthday party), I still do not really understand Shopkins so I was a little intrigued by a live stage show...would lipstick and cookies be dancing around?
Kind of.

The Shoppie dolls were on stage singing and dancing and shopping....

Lucy was intrigued and Paisley was pretty into it, too. Even Alli, who was really just there to hang out with her grandma, aunt, sister and cousin, got a little sucked in!

But then yes, there was a liptick (who I happen to know is named Lippy Lips) was singing on the stage! Kookie Cookie was there, too, along with a whole skit with dancing popcorn (Poppy Corn and friends, of course!).

The little girls even had fun playing with Shoppie dolls during intermission!

With our VIP passes, we got to go backstage afterward and color, have a dance party and meet the dolls - oh, and they each got a Shopkins drawstring backpack and a pack of Shopkins!

 Fun day!

Later that night, we got together with the Hicks family for dinner and Max got inspired by his Santa pajamas. He found a Santa hat and a giant red bag and made everyone sit on his lap while he perfected his "HoHoHo" and asked everyone if they've been good and what they wanted for Christmas.
Grandpa was the official photographer of "Pictures with Santa Max."
