Lucy lately

Last Thursday was warm and gorgeous so I surprised my girl after school by walking up there with the wagon to fetch her.  She was pretty excited to see the packed wagon when we walked outside:

We walked across the street, through the nature trail and to the little pond near Kroger.  I'd brought some bread for us to feed to the ducks and she had a good time with that.

I also packed us a picnic dinner so she was loving life...I asked her to pick out the perfect spot and she asked me to help her spread out the blanket.

Next we walked back through the nature / garden trail before heading back to our street to play at the park.

Once there, she had a big accomplishment!  She's attempted the yellow curved climber many a time but has gotten too nervous about half way up each time, even with help.  She'd had yet to make it to the top...until last Thursday!  And she was very proud of herself!  She also performed a little tight rope-like act along the gardening stones and needed me to cheer for her once finished...

Playing outside can wear a girl out...soon it was time to relax!

We had more girl time on Saturday while Daddy was "with his running girls."
We started the day with a trip to Busken (aka "the cookie store") for breakfast and then ran some errands.  We also went to the city building for the Easter egg hunt (though my baby brain did it's best to ruin the day, she still ended up with treats and got to see her cousins Alli and P).

Sunday brought more fun - Big Sister class at St. E!
But first we had to get dance pictures taken...here's a sneak peek!

She was pretty excited about the big sister class:

When we walked in, we had to sign in and she and her baby doll had to get a name tag.  The teacher introduced herself and asked Lucy if she was getting a baby brother or a baby sister and my girl was very matter-of-fact.  "A brother!"  The lady asked what his name will be but she said she didn't know...I guess she wasn't in the mood to come up with a silly name.  I've asked her, "What if the baby turns out to be a girl?  Would that be okay?" and she says, "No!  I only want a brother!"

We were pretty impressed when she headed to the middle of the room to participate with the other kids.

Excited to learn how to diaper and swaddle a baby...
though she was pretty sure she already knew all she needed to know

Baby #2 update:

My most recent appointment was last Friday, April 11.  I saw Dr. Willett because Dr. Lea is out of town.  I asked Dr. Lea quite awhile ago if he had any vacations planned in May and he told me no, but that he'd be out of town for several weeks in April.  Neither of us seemed to think this would be an issue, particularly since Lucy came out the day after her due date (after I went into labor on her actual due date).

Dr. Willett announces that I am already 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced!  He asked repeatedly if I've had any contractions.  I told him no, besides the one day when I had myself pretty worked up and he agreed, "Yeah, stress can do that."

He proceeds to tell me the baby is in position and once I hit 36 weeks (which I hit two days later!), they wouldn't do anything to stop labor!  As soon as the appointment was over, I rushed out to the receptionist and asked, "When is Dr. Lea back?!" and she told me what I already knew...April 30...

I cannot have this baby in April!  I told the gal at the desk, "I'm putting myself on bed rest!"

But so far I am still pregnant and Dr. Lea will be back in 15 days...and my next appointment is this Friday afternoon.

My weight had dipped thanks to the return of morning sickness (plus the last time I was wearing my boots and this time I wasn't) so I've gained 3 pounds total at this point and I've been feeling pretty good.  I've been feeling worn out but no pain or anything.  I had a lot of back pain in my last pregnancy so it's nice not to have to huddle up to my heating pad every night!

Besides being nervous about having this babe so early and potentially having another doctor delivery him or her, I didn't feel prepared!  But Lucy and I went to BRU on Saturday and bought a few things and we got the car seat and bases out of storage and I'll have the base installed in my car this week...and Dave is working on clearing some space in the living room for the swing...so we're getting there and I'm feeling a little better - but I still want the baby to wait until MAY!
