Baby #2 update

Last Thursday (April 17), my coworkers gave me a giant surprise - a baby shower! 

They'd planned a surprise party to show some love to this baby and even invited my family! 

My boss came to get me from my desk to take me to a fake meeting which was a little unusual...we approached a conference room and when we opened the door, everyone from my department was in there and yelled, "Surprise!" and then I noticed Dave and Lucy in there, too!

It was amazing and so thoughtful of them - it was like a "real" shower, too!  They had games and prizes and everything...and lunch (Skyline!  Lucy's favorite!) and cupcakes...and they totally embraced my owl theme!

We got the baby's bedding for Christmas from my parents and my coworkers got us all of the other accessories to complete the baby's room:

I went back to the doctor on Friday afternoon.  I'd lost a little more so I've now gained about 2 pounds...the nurse asked about it ("lots of barfing") but the doctor didn't so I don't think it's a big deal. 

They measured my belly and said I was measuring right at 37 weeks which was technically 2 days ahead of schedule but basically right on track.  The moment of truth came when my back-up doc came in and said...no change!  Still 2cm dilated and 50% effaced which is more than what was going on in Baby #1 pregnancy but no change over the course of a week was good news to me (especially after we went to the zoo on Friday and walked, walked, walked before my appointment).

Nine days til my Dr. Lea is back in town!  And my next appointment is this Wednesday (04/23) at 8am.
