July in pics

July 2018 was the last month spent in our first home - we closed on the sale of our Highland Heights house and on the purchase of our Cold Spring house on July 31.

Studly hair = selfie time!

Riding bikes across the street
(maybe the last bike ride with training wheels for Lucy...)

Crazy boys attacking Grandpa

Another sleepover in Lucy's room!

Another night - sleeping alone in their own beds...Max is a crazy sleeper...

One day, Lucy waited in the car while I went into Walnut Hills to get Max - she took about 38 pictures - of me walking in, of the inside of the car, of herself, of her window...

Making Daddy's bday cake

Meeting our new niece, Jillian!

We let the kids pick out the new carpet colors for their new rooms in the new house. Dave was skeptical at first when Lucy picked out a deep purple (and a pale purple paint color for the walls) but it turned out pretty great...and Lucy was very, very happy!

Playing on the swingset for the last time
Lucy got this swingset from "Grandma and Grandpa with the dogs" when she turned 2
We passed it along to Jillian when it was time to move since even Max is getting a bit big for this set

Playing in the crab sandbox for the last time (though we did bring it with us to the new house). Max got this yellow car for his birthday when he turned 2...they took one last joyride down Bon Jan Lane before we took it over to GranJan & Grandpa's house. Our kids love riding the motorized vehicles with Luke & Ellie over there so we figured it would get more use if we left it there.

Goofballs resting on their upright mattresses...they really enjoyed the adventurousness of having the house in disarray and being packed up...

Last family selfie on our old porch!

This sweet blue room was a lot of things in 10 years -
It started out as quite the sight...wood paneling on the back wall, metallic wallpaper on the other walls, horrible carpeting...Next, it was painted blue and gold and we had a desk in there and called it "the NewCath room." Once Lucy was coming along, we painted it a sage green and it was giraffe-central for our baby.

This pretty purple room also went through some changes in our time there. It started out with the paneling and wallpaper and horrific carpet like the room across the hall. But then it was "the gray room" - gray carpet and gray walls. We had a spare bed in there (with a gray comforter) and a couple of dressers. When Max was coming along, Lucy moved over to the bigger room to make way for baby and we painted it purple and the "guest bed" became her bed (with new bedding, of course).

First night in the new house! Still just a mattress for the Lucygirl but Maxy got his whole bed to sleep in...though he decided since we moved, he no longer needed the toddler rail (and yes, he fell out of bed that night - multiple times...)
