Max loves all of his friends at Ms. Shelly's house so he's been happy...he seems especially taken with a little girl named Laney and talks about her ALL OF THE TIME. He loves saying her name (and apparently he loves pulling her hair...and getting sent to time out...)!
Max is talking more and more and has more words than we can easily remember. Every day he says a new word that we didn't know he knew...lots of fun!
His favorite things are brooms, shovels (or dustpans, which he also calls shovels), balls, and places to sit - seriously! He loves little couches and chairs and he even makes his big booty comfortable sitting on the chairs meant for Lucy's baby dolls!
He loves his stroller and if he spots one of the strollers but we tell him no...well, let's just say it isn't pretty. But winter isn't exactly an ideal time for stroller rides...
We did get a walk in last weekend when it was so nice! Sweet Lucy took her babies for a walk, too! |
He used to be a really good shopping partner because he enjoyed being in a stroller or a cart so much but he's starting to get a little too curious to sit still for long in a store - he spots so many interesting things!
He's very silly and wacky and loves to laugh and to make us laugh. If he does something that gets a laugh, he'll repeat it a dozen times - his favorite is to intentionally fall for laughs (and it kills every time!). He has a little hand broom that attaches at the handle to the dustpan and he always struggles to separate the two - one day, he threw it out of frustration and they popped apart and I cracked up so now he does that little "trick" for me quite often. He's been physically compared to Chris Farley but he's just as funny as him, too!
He is such a good little boy and is almost always happy...he can be stubborn and can have a temper and we'll still working on weaning him from his B (pacifier) but he's basically perfect!
He loves playing in the kitchen - it's the best place for bouncing balls, throwing every magnet off of the fridge, banging on pots and pans and racing his remote control car!
He's not as good an eater as you'd think he is by looking at him...he's picky and often uses mealtime to assert his stubbornness. He loves ketchup (I seriously buy ketchup as often as I buy bread and milk...) and he loves fruit. He likes peanut butter and he likes baked beans and hot dogs...we're still trying to broaden his culinary horizons!
Maxyboy - the perfect combination of silly and sweet!
Lucy has some big changes coming her way - we went to open house at St. Joe's a few weeks ago and I went there last weekend to register her for kindergarten! It's crazy but true...my sweet baby girl will be a kindergartner in the fall!
She's not too excited about the thought of it - in fact, she really doesn't want to talk about it at all - but there's still plenty of time for her to get used to the idea.

My beautiful artist with a creation at school |
Troy's birthday was at the end of December and she was pretty busy with that one - she wanted to make him a cake and cupcakes and brownies!
She told me what to write on his cake - Happy Birthday, Pete - her nickname for him.
Uncle Jeff (aka Uncle Sherman) had a birthday in January so she made brownies and cupcakes again...and she let Max and Lukey help decorate.
She got invited to two birthday parties last weekend - one for her friend Mae from school and one from our friend Reese. Both parties were princess themed so she wore her Aurora costume to one and her Cinderella costume to the other.
Ava was at Mae's party, too...hooray! |
The kids and I go to "PJ Time" at the library on most Tuesday nights. It's from 7-8pm and the wonderful Ms. Joan reads the kids 3 related books and then does a craft with them that fits the theme. Recently, she read a 3 books about birthdays and then the kids got to decorate cupcakes and party hats! The Meyers kids were in heaven!
Lucy has always been an artist so it's only natural she's become skilled at the selfie (and she even calls it that! I never use the word "selfie" but she's picked it up somewhere!) and other cell phone photography:
Look how grown up she's becoming! She listens to her iPod with her headphones, plays on the iPad, takes gymnastics on Monday nights, helps clear the table each night, brings the recycling bin back each Tuesday, and helps pick out Max's clothes and pajamas...she even helped wash his hair in the tub one night!
She's been talking a lot about how she wanted a baby sister, not a baby brother, and keeps asking Auntie Ema to trade Max for Ellie...but she can't deny how much she loves her baby brother (even though she also really loves her baby cousin Ellie)!
She's a good little girl who likes to use big words like "immediately!" and finds hysterical places to hide in Hide-N-Seek...sometimes she's got an attitude on her and quite a temper but she's basically perfect!
