February fun

Have I ever mentioned how much we love our library?  Recently, we went to the Newport branch and had a little Valentine's party...Lucy made a card for Ava and then both kids decorated and ate cupcakes.  They had a little photo booth with props set up, too, and I got some silly pics of my two goofballs...

Max didn't seem to understand the paper cupcake prop was not edible...

Another day, Princess Belle was at the Cold Spring branch!

And on Valentine's Day, Dave and I gave our little lovebugs each a small gift...Lucy got the Kooky Cookie stuffed animal she'd been lusting after ever since she bought one for her friend Reese for her birthday and Max got his own MagnaDoodle.

Mommy got flowers and Max kept smelling them & saying "Mmmm!"
Maxy and his girlfriend Laney!

One beautiful day in early February, Max didn't seem to be feeling well at Ms. Shelly's so I picked him up early...but it seemed he got it all out of his system there so he and I decided to have a little Mommy-Maxy park date!  He is a silly little wild man!

We still do the bedtime chart with Lucy and we still experience highs and lows...She's currently recovering from a losing streak (about a whole week of at least one X per night) but before that, she had a good long run.  She got a cotton candy maker for Christmas from GranJan & Grandpa so as a special reward one night we let her make some...Max was happy to reap the benefits as well!

This past weekend brought lots of fun beginning with Friday night when we had a pizza party to celebrate Grandma and Aunt Amy's birthdays:

The cupcakes Lucy and I made were a big hit!

At the end of the evening, these little cuties cozied up to watch a movie together:

Saturday was so warm and sunny and beautiful...had to believe we had just gotten 4 inches of snow the previous weekend!  We decided to head to the zoo and take advantage!  There were certainly a lot of people there but it wasn't too crowded that it prevented us from maneuvering around easily and having a great  time...the only downside was that the outdoor giraffe area is under construction and the usual path to get to them was closed.  It took us awhile to find an alternate route to go peek at them through the windows.

On Sunday, we went to GranJan & Grandpa's house to hang out and grill out...Lucy and Max both loved loving on baby Ellie!

Lucy said, "I just love her little hands!  I feel like I want to kiss them!"

Four little cuties just hanging out!

Max is super-obsessed with brooms and shovels and has a little cleaning set at home he plays with constantly.  He also loves pots and pans and utensils - his newest thing is to help set the table.  He loves going back and forth between the kitchen and dining room and setting the table with interesting items.  He always brings out a couple of pots and lids, usually a bag of chips (because he can reach the cabinet where they're kept) and all of the cheese in the fridge (because he can open the fridge on his own and the cheese drawer is his go-to once inside) - so American cheese squares, all of the string cheeses on hand and each bag of shredded cheese we have.  Lately, he's also been bringing his own little kitchen utensil set out and yesterday morning he decided to use one of the big serving spoons in his set to eat cereal...

She's absolutely obsessed with taking pictures lately - often of ketchup-faced self!

This was before school one morning...I didn't realize how bad her hair looked until I saw this picture...
