Snow day!

We had a bonus snow day at the end of March. Maybe not quite as much snow fell as the predicted but it was still plenty to play in. We met up at GranJan & Grandpa's house to make the most of it together.
The highlight of the day for me? GranJan brought out carrots (for noses) and raisins (for eyes, buttons, etc.) for them to build snowmen and Max ate the carrots and Luke ate the raisins...guess they thought that was their snow day snack! Poor snowmen...

GranJan won the award for Craziest Sled-rider...
Uncle Jeff was not far behind...

Max had soooo much fun shoveling snow!
Photos complements of Auntie Ema who was cracking up at his technique
from the warmth of the house...snapping pics through the window.

St. Patrick's Day 2018

For his school St. Patrick's Day celebration, Maxy wore his cute little shamrock necktie shirt. That day they had a show-and-tell and it had to be something green. He had a tough time deciding between his green owl pillow and Rex, the dino from Toy Story.
Ultimately, Rex won out!

One night that week, we went to the library for an evening story time. The librarian read a few stories and the kids got to play a bunch of different games - and then she turned on her bubble machine - always a crowd pleaser!

St. Patrick's Day fell on a Saturday this year so it really felt like we should go out and celebrate!
The next day was Lucy's 7th birthday was the next day, though, so Dave and I knew we couldn't be out too late. Grandma was ready and willing to watch Lucy & Max and Amy & Christy had come up to hang out so we went with them to watch the UK basketball game then we met up with Jeff & Ema - at BDubs. Later, we met up with even more friends at Dickmann's - my parents and Ashley, Donna & Bob...fun night! And yes, Dave and I stayed out toooooo late...

March Madness

March memories in photos:

Picture day for my girl was sponsored by GranJan - pretty sure she bough her everything she's wearing...the dress, the jacket and the boots.

We love painting rocks!

He cracks himself (and the rest of the family) up - he can fit inside of the fridge!
Ice cold Maxyboy!

The scoreboard at Lucy's winning basketball game (they're "Guest!")...
they're first win and I had to miss it because I had strep throat

Missing teeth!

Last minute, impromptu girls night out!

Happy birthday, Auntie Ema!

A pic Lucy's school shared

Such a sweetie!

My soccer stars -
Lucy throwing a ball back into play and Maxy (red jacket) hustling at practice.

Lucy's school had a little art show where many of her pieces from the school year were on display. We had fun tracking them down.

Paint & Bake visited the library before Easter and the kids got to paint decorations - Lucy painted a bunny and Max chose an Easter egg. Masterpieces!

Can you spot Lukey?

Sweet sleeping babies

Giddyup!

The Father/Daughter dance was really close to Easter so I figured I could get Lucy one dress to wear for both occasions.
I'd gotten the pink flowery dress from the Children's Place and thought she'd love it because it has the shoulders cut out (she's obsessed with that style right now) and it was flowy.
Well she did love it...but said it wasn't what she "had in mind" for the dance - but she'd be willing to wear it for Easter (thanks, kid).
She said she wanted a "long to the floor" dress for the dance. I spotted this purple one at Old Navy and hoped it would do the trick.
Again, she said she loved it but it wasn't doing it for her with regards to the dance...
She ended up getting TWO new dresses out of me and pulled this black butterfly-print out of her closet for the dance (she'd just gotten it for her birthday so it was still "new" and she hadn't worn it yet but it wasn't bought with the dance in mind...).
She's doing a curtsy in the last photo.

Trying out the new paint pens on some rocks...she got the pens from John, Amy & Charlie for her birthday - success! Plus a few of our other recent designs.
