Happy Halloween 2019

I was lucky enough to go to both kids' classroom parties...I was pretty happy they were at different times so I could make it happen.

I am a room mom for Lucy's 3d grade class this year so I got to help come up with the games but I was just a regular old party guest in Max's kindergarten class.

First up, I visited KB and my little vampire. I bought this costume so Max & Lucy could match once since she had a vampire dress costume...thinking I'd maybe get him to wear it once to HalZooween or something...but he fell in love with it! He wore it multiple times, including to his classroom party and out trick-r-treating that night. Cutest little orange-haired vampire I ever did see!

Lucy went with the Uma (from The Descendants) costume for her classroom party and for trick-r-treating. Her friend Addy was Evil Audrey from the same movie so they looked picture perfect!

That night was chilly but at least it was dry! We had a lot of fun meeting up with cousins at Aunt Terri & Uncle John's house to trick-r-treat together...
We had:
Mario (Evan)
Princess Peach (Lucia)
Elsa (Ellie)
Black Panther (Luke)
Reaper (Charlie)
Uma (Lucy)
Vampire (Max)
Sloth (Ashley)

Pumpkin carving 2019

Pumpkin carving 2019 - Lucy was most interested in scooping goop...Dave hates the goop but the rest of us love scooping it out! He cuts the the tops off and helps with the carving but leaves the slimy goo to us.

After she cleared out her pumpkin, Lucy was happy to draw faces on the smaller pumpkins.

This year, Max wanted to carve his own pumpkin...he even had a vision for how he wanted the face to look which he drew on the pumpkin first with dry erase marker. Next, we gave him one of the small carving knives from the kit and he got to work! He needed supervision, of course, but very little help.

Dave came up with two ideas to carve and surprise the kids with - a ninja turtle for Max and a unicorn for Lucy, which they loved.
Max was very pleased with his happy little jack-o-lantern and they likes my spookier-faced design, too. Carving success...Happy Halloween!

October memories in pictures

Lucy and Max had Fall Break in October but Dave and I had to work. They got to hang out with some different friends all week and one day, they hung out with (soon to be Aunt) Jessica. They loved sitting on the patio at the Taylor Mill LaRosa's.

They also had a lot of fun climbing all over Uncle Jason...
And they even had a rare Harley sighting (Jason's cat)!

Lucy's soccer season came to an end in October and to celebrate a successful season, the coaches allowed the girls to throw pies in their faces!

Trying on creepy old masks...

Lucy and I were twinning one day and asked Max to take a pic...
he nailed it!

Another day of Fall Break - Lucy was off hanging out with a friend so Max hung out with hius friend, GranJan. She took him to the Learning Express in Crestview Hills and he got to make a cool candy corn craft.

Yet another day of Fall Break, both Lucy and Max hung out with GranJan

Grandma took them to the Halloween party at the Highland Heights city building. Lucy wore her Uma costume (from Disney's The Descendants) and Max wore his vampire costume once again.

When we first talked about what they wanted to be for Halloween, Lucy knew right away she wanted to be Uma. Max also chose pretty quickly - Superman - and I even bought his costume. But I'd also picked up the vampire / vampiress costumes for them to wear to HalZooween and Max quickly became obsessed with him.

He tried the Superman costume on the day I brought it home (to make sure it fit) but then never once put it on again...

But the vampire costume was a good choice for this particular party - he won the costume contest for his age group! He got a $10 gift card to Walmart.
Cousin fun:
Jillian, Max, Lucy, Paisley & Alli

Lucy saw her friend Talia...I mean Princess Jasmine...there!
