Bubble pool!

One afternoon, while Dave was doing yard work / cutting the grass, the kids decided to fill up the little pool in the backyard and I joined in on the fun.

We decided to enhance the fun by making it a colorful bubble pool!
We are obsessed with the Crayola color tablets - the kids use them in almost every bath they take - so we brought those out and grabbed the bottle of Dawn.

These two had tons of fun growing and taming their bubble beards!

I got in on the bubble beard fun, too!

They had so much fun with the colorful bubble pool that Lucy invited some friends over a few days later to do it again.
Note to self: put Dawn on the grocery list...

Lots of cool action shots of them running and jumping into the pretty little bubble pool!

Dave came back and saw them and immediately started Googling "will Dawn kill my grass?"

After all of the running and jumping, these two had to relax a little bit...then a bubble Lucy decided we didn't quite have enough bubbles and blew some more!

We ordered pizza for dinner and ate on the deck - what a perfect summer afternoon / evening!

This kid...he gives his own self bunny ears all.the.time.
Who does that?!

Happy 4th of July!

Seems like we've had a lot of rainy 4th of July's so we were happy for a beautiful day this year!
We met up with friends at GranJan & Grandpa's house to walk up the street to watch the Edgewood parade. Lots of candy!

After the parade, we went back to Aunt Terri & Uncle John's house for a grill-out.

Later that night, the kids and I walked around the neighborhood to watch some of our neighbor's fireworks displays...oooh, aaahhh!

Lucy's first concert!

We got Lucy tickets to Kidz Bop for her 8th birthday and she was very excited!
Last year, we saw a bunch of Facebook posts of people we knew who were at the show but we were still on our beach vacation. Lucy said, "It's the only concert kids can go to but I was out of town?" So cute that she thought that - I did not correct her!

But I knew it would make a great gift - and I asked her friend Hannah's mom if they'd want to join us and they did...having one of her little besties there with us definitely helped make it even more exciting!

It was a HOT one that day but they had free water stations and some misting areas for us to cool off

She had a lot of fun - and took a lot of pictures! - but I think she'd enjoy a "real" concert even more. We thought the "kidz" would sing a lot of Taylor Swift songs but I don't think they sang any!

They each got cotton candy and a cool light-up microphone. I expected Lucy to sing along and dance a little more than she did but I could still tell she was loving life, doing something so "grown up."

Her vaca hair wrap on display!

Afterward, we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then stopped for some ice cream...yum!
