The kids got to do tons of cool things - visit a couple of pumpkin patches, attend a fun party at the library, go on a spooky pumpkin walk, play at Jac-o-lantern Junction, carve pumpkins and go trick-or-treating with some cousin-friends!
Halloween in pictures:
One day, two libraries - first, we went to the Cold Spring branch and painted some pumpkins...Lucy's always been my little artist and now Max is following in her footsteps. Lucy saved our spots while Max and I got the paint but Lucy told us exactly what colors to get!
Later that day, we went to the Newport branch for a party...they got to make bead necklaces and eat spooky treats (Max had pudding for the first time!) and play fun games.
We had already visited one pumpkin patch with Grandma, Aunt Nikki & Steven and Aunt Amy but we got to go to another one with GranJan and Lukey.
Lucy in 2012 / Lucy in 2015
She's such a good big sis! She sat with Max and kept him safe on this ride that turned out to be much longer and went much further than I thought when I stuck him in there... |
He loves animals! |
These two were pretty tired by the end of the day... but never too tired for an ice cream treat! |
Pumpkin carving fun...this year, Lucy was all about the goof-scooping! In past year's, she's been a little weirded out by it.
Max 2014 / Max 2015 - just wasn't happening this year!
This was the best I could do... Max did not understand why he was placed on the cold porch at night and he wasn't a fan... |
We went to the Pumpkin Walk in Ft. Thomas for the first time this year. Lucy's friend Ava had a pumpkin on the trail so it was fun looking for that!
It was a pretty cool event - the whole bike trail in Tower Park was lined with Ft. Thomas resident's carved pumpkins and we got to walk along the trail and check them all out.
Maxy's face cracks me up...maybe he saw a ghost on the trail! |
Random Halloween-time cuteness:
With her witch's cottage from Auntie Donna |
On Halloween, we went to Jack-O-Lantern Junction at EnterTRAINment Junction with Auntie Ema and cousin Lukey - fun stuff!
We looked at the train display and played in the indoor playground, Luke & Lucy did the pedal car train ride, the kids and I did an outdoor train ride, we colored, trick-or-treated and ate lunch, we visited the fun house area and then Lucy and Max did the hay bale maze. They loved it!
Lucy was so cute with Luke and Max in the playground area! There was one high step that Luke couldn't quite make it up on the way to the slide but Lucy lifted him right on up "about 50 hundred times" so they could slide, slide, slide!
Waiting in line for the train |
Trick-or-treating! |
Lucy called this room "the disco room" and started "boogying down" She cracks me up! |
That place wore her out! |
Lucy chose their costumes this year - she wanted to be Maleficent (from the Angelina Jolie movie) and wanted Max to be her bird! They were adorable!
Lucia (Dorothy), Evan (the cowardly lion), Luke (Michelangelo), Charlie's friend Spencer, Charlie (Dracula), Ashley (ladybug), Lucy (Maleficent), Max (bird) |
Lucy wanted me to wear my Maleficent costume too! |
